Eligibility

The AITRP provides scholarships for health care professionals from Brazil, the nations of the Caribbean basin, Mali and Nigeria to obtain advanced training in epidemiology and prevention, clinical research, vaccinology and public health.

Other fields will be considered on a case by case basis. Most candidates hold a medical or graduate degree. Consideration is also given to candidates that have bachelor's or master's degrees in relevant fields.

  • Candidates should have demonstrated interest in HIV/AIDS research and must intend to return to their home country upon completion of their program.
  • Candidates must be recommended by the In-Country Coordinator of their home country. See the link for your locale.
  • Applicants must be willing to continue their research collaboration upon returning home.
