For candidates interested in obtaining graduate degrees:

It is recommended that the student apply to the Graduate or Professional School prior to applying to the University of Maryland Fogarty AIDS International Training Research Program.

Persons interested in applying should submit the following to the In-Country Coordinator:

  3. Letter of support from home institution that approves leave for the program and indicates future position upon return to home country
  4. Academic transcripts
  5. TOEFL scores (Test of English as a Foreign Language, required for all international students)
  6. GRE scores (Graduate Record Examination, required for all students applying the University of Maryland Graduate or Professional Schools)

The In-Country Coordinator will determine if the candidate is eligible for application to the University of Maryland Fogarty AITRP.

Once the University of Maryland receives the application package containing the six documents and a letter of support from the In-Country Coordinator, the AITRP admission committee will determine whether to offer the scholarship.

The scholarship is contingent upon admittance to a formal degree granting program in the University of Maryland Graduate or Professional Schools and does not guarantee or imply acceptance.
