Human Monoclonal Antibody Core Laboratory

The IHV Human Monoclonal Antibody Core Laboratory is an effort of IHV’s AIDS vaccine development and is part of IHV’s Vaccine Research group. The role of the lab is to conduct research on protective antibody responses against human viral diseases by applying cutting-edge technologies of human monoclonal antibody.

The lab is focusing on antibody responses against Env of HIV-1 and its rhesus monkey model, SIV and SHIV. The laboratory has three major research aims:  to isolate protective monoclonal antibodies from human HIV-1 controller and monkey SIV/SHIV controller, to understand the mechanisms of antibody mediated protection in AIDS controller and to explore the mysterious durability problem of serological antibody response of Env based AIDS vaccine.
