The Institute of Human Virology – Nigeria (IHV-Nigeria), a not-for-profit organization registered in Nigeria, was established in 2004 to implement scale-up of the PEPFAR program and conduct research and training to promote quality evidence based health systems strengthening. IHV-Nigeria has grown into an organization of over 230 staff members, 95% of whom are Nigerians and expanded our activities to meet the growing public health challenges in Nigeria. Our mission is to provide excellence in care and treatment, training and research; respect for the dignity of the person; and hope for the people of Nigeria.

IHV-Nigeria now supports a network of prevention, care and treatment sites at mainly state and federal primary, secondary and tertiary health centers and non-governmental community-based organizations in 24 states throughout Nigeria to implement a model of care that links HIV prevention to treatment. We provide care and support to HIV-positive individuals, antiretroviral drugs, HIV counseling and testing.
