History of the Evelyn Jordan Center
The concept of delivering comprehensive care to HIV infected the individuals began in 1987 at the University of Maryland. The clinic which delivered care to HIV infected individuals was officially named in 1995 after a remarkable patient Evelyn Jordan, who inspired people with her courage and embodied the mission of the clinic with her selfless dedication to helping other people. The staff of EJC is dedicated and trained to uphold these same principles. Since the beginning of the epidemic the number of patients as well as the scope of services offered has expanded. With comprehensive care and the successful treatments for HIV infection people with HIV infection live full lives, and the EJC today provides care to 2050 individuals.
