Endorses Critical Need of Continued AIDS Education

Lt. Gov. Michael Steele toured the Institute of Human Virology this month. While visiting with division directors and staff, he endorsed the critical need of continued education in order to successfully end the AIDS epidemic.

Maryland ranks third nationally for HIV infection, with a rate that rivals that of sub-saharan Africa. Meanwhile, AIDS is the No. 1 killer of African Americans ages 25-40 in the United States and is increasingly affecting women and teens.
