Clinical Trials for Preventive HIV-1 Vaccine Studies
Currently Enrolling:
- HVTN 060, HVTN 064 and HVTN 065 - More information will be provided later
on these three trials.
Conducted and Completed:
- HVTN 044 - A Phase I Clinical Trial to evaluate
the safety and immunogenicity of an HIV DNA vaccine given with IL2.

- HIV-1 gag DNA Vaccine Protocol - MRK 002-02
- A Phase I study evaluating the safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity
of the HIV-1 gag DNA Vaccine in Healthy Adults.
- HVTN 039 - A study to evaluate the safety and
tolerability two dose levels of a potential HIV prevention vaccine called
vCP1452.
- HVTN 041- A study to evaluate the safety and
tolerability of a vaccine product made from two HIV genes and a piece of the
HIV envelope mixed with an adjuvant (a product to enhance the vaccine).
- HVTN 203 A study looking at two HIV vaccine products
given together, separately, or sequentially to see if they show immunity against
HIV infection.
Currently Not Enrolling in U.S.:
- HVTN 050 - A worldwide Phase I Dose Escalating
Study of a three-dose regimen of MRKAd5 Vaccine in healthy adults.

- HVTN 052 - A Phase 1B Clinical Trial to evaluate
the safety and immunogenicity of a Multiclade HIV-1 DNA vaccine administered
at two different dosing schedules.
