  Profile

Our laboratory is interested in the development and characterization of HIV-1 and Human Herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8) rodent models. We engineer animal models by transgenic and gene-knock out techniques.

Over the last several years, our focus has been on analyzing the molecular and immunological bases for cytokine (interferon-gamma) dysregulation seen in the transgenic HIV-1 rat and Kaposi's Sarcoma-like tumors in transgenic HHV8 G protein-coupled receptor mouse models respectively.
