PEPFAR
The President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) is America's initiative to combat the global HIV/AIDS epidemic. When PEPFAR was signed into law in 2003 it was the largest commitment by any nation to combat a single disease in human history.
PEPFAR provides funding to the AIDSRelief Consortium. As a key member of the consortium, the Institute of Human Virology (IHV) provides care, treatment and counseling to people living with AIDS in Africa and other developing countries.
